Our family Law partners, Peter Fisher and Margaret Ridley are members of the Law Society and Resolution Panels demonstrating a commitment to best practice in family and the conduct of cases in a constructive manner. Whenever possible, we will seek to achieve settlement of disputes by negotiation and/or mediation. We are mindful of the cost of litigation – both emotionally and financially.
Collaborative Practice
This is a new approach initiated by family lawyers to manage the divorce process in an inclusive and empowering manner for all concerned. In this collaborative process, the family lawyers and their clients agree, in writing, to reach settlement without court involvement. The parties and their lawyers agree to work together to resolve any family and financial issues arising out of the separation.
Family Mediation
Mediation is an alternate method of resolving the practical difficulties that frequently arise when a relationship ends. It is a voluntary process, involving the couple meeting together with one or two Mediators in a safe and neutral location to discus the options available to them for sorting out how to end their relationship formally, resolving any disagreements about their children and also their finances.

Civil Litigation
Our Civil Litigation Department specialises in Contract disputes, actions in negligence, Employment Law, Personal Injury (including Clinical Negligence), claims relating to properties damaged by Highway tree roots and Commercial Debt Recovery.

Conveyancing/ Wills/ Probate/Tax
This department deals in all areas of property law, conveyancing, (residential, matrimonial and commercial), and related matters, (including grants of leases), will drafting, trusts; administration of estates and associated tax aspects. We also have considerable experience of other non-contentious work such as sale and purchase of businesses, Powers of Attorney, matters relating to the elderly and dealing with the affairs of incapable persons including applications to the Court of Protection.
